Phil featured in the Channel 4 series 'The Unteachables', and later in 'Can't Read Can't Write' in 2008. He lives in South East London with his wife and three children.

In Phil's first book Could Do Better! Beadle achieves the seemingly impossible, by successfully drawing out the desire to learn from a group of disaffected, failing pupils. His second book Be a Fantastic Teacher - A Handbook for NQTs explains the tricks of his trade. Packed with illustrations and practical lesson ideas other teachers can use with their classes.
