Patrick McGuinnessPatrick McGuiness was brought up in Venezuela, Iran, Belgium and England. He is Professor of French and Comparative Literature at Oxford University. His previous books include: Anthologie de la poesie symboliste et decadente (2001), the most up to date anthology of late 19th C French poetry in French, an acclaimed translation of Mallarme's For Anatole's Tomb (2004), studies of avant-garde theatre, and editions of modernist writers. As a poet he won an Eric Gregory Award in 1998, the American Poetry Foundation's Levinson Prize in 2003, and the Poetry Business Prize in 2006.
